Staying Active

Healthy living includes staying active and moving. Computers and high-tech games allow us to get in the habit of sitting all day. Bodies were meant to move. Get up from the computers, television and games. Start moving.

How can we move it, move it?

  1. Take a walk with your family after dinner. Start off by walking one block then increase the walk to a further distance every day. This is a great time to talk as a family about what is going on in school and in the neighborhood. Not everyone has to walk though, if you have a bicycle ride it while your parents walk. You can circle back to them every so often and increase your distance and burn more calories
       2. Do you like to play a particular sport? Even if you don't ,         try a new sport. Get involved in a swim team, basketball           team, baseball team, volleyball team, the teams are                   endless. Get involved, try different sports and you may             like it. Even golf and bowling make you move it. 

Be active! Get motivated! Try new activities that make you move. All of this leads to a healthy lifestyle.
